Econic ensures safe construction site transports in cities.
One of the topics at bauma is the worldwide construction boom in cities. This means new challenges for transporters who have to deal with a large number of cyclists and pedestrians in the often unclear city traffic. At the same time, safety and environmental friendliness requirements for the used vehicles are being made stricter. Here, the Econic from Mercedes-Benz offers forward-looking solutions. A grass-green model of the low-entry truck with concrete mixer body can be seen on the bauma outdoor exhibition grounds as a world premiere. Here, visitors can directly convince themselves of the innovative safety aspects of the Econic.
The DirectVision cab of the Econic provides the driver with a direct view at eye level with other road users - interested visitors to the trade fair in Munich can experience that particularly when they take seat in the driver's position themselves. Because DirectVision is a major safety advantage over conventional trucks: better visibility enables faster reactions and thus shorter braking distances.
With its camera- and sensor-supported safety systems, the safety of the Econic can be increased even further. These safety assistance systems are the subject of many questions from trade fair visitors, as legal requirements will also be emerging here in the future. The turn assistant of the Econic warns the driver when other road users, such as cyclists, are in a blind spot next to the vehicle.
The Active Brake Assist monitors the area in front of the vehicle while driving. In hazardous situations, the latest generation of the system warns the driver acoustically and optically - and can initiate automatic partial braking under optimum conditions within the system limits.

To the competition
Clever road construction with the Unimog.
The Unimog will also be presented at bauma as a flexible all-rounder alongside the Mercedes-Benz trucks and vans in Hall B4. Equipped with a sweeping brush from Dücker driven by a front PTO shaft, the Unimog U 427 prepares the ground to be covered with bitumen. The bitumen sprayer was developed by Schäfer and is easy to install on the Unimog's platform. Two working steps in one vehicle, conveniently controlled from the cockpit by the driver - this is pure efficiency in road construction.
Zetros with tipper - the solution for demanding terrain.
The Zetros canopy truck is a magnet for visitors to the outdoor area. The bright orange three-axle truck with rear-wheel drive is a typical construction vehicle equipped with a Meiller tipping body. Thanks to the low vehicle profile, the Zetros is also easy to load.
The eye-catching special truck shows its strengths when other vehicles are no longer able to continue their journey: off-road and on difficult roads. The suspension of the driver's cab with the seat behind the front axle enables comfortable driving even when driving through potholes and over steep embankments.
