Winter Tour of Unimog partners.

Key aspect of the events were winter service applications

The efficient interaction between Unimog and implements and attachments was shown by Unimog general agents at the winter tour 2016. Hundreds of visitors came to see the five professional events and live demonstrations for municipal use, that took place in the Black Forest, Harz and Bavarian Forest.
Key aspect of the events were winter service applications like clearing snow and scattering salt. Numerous producers of attachments presented their equipment, for example snow blower, snowplough and salt-spreading units to be used with the Unimog. The implement carriers passed the audience just like on a catwalk and gave proof of their productivity.

Additional road-rail attachments showed that the Unimog is also ideally suited for the all-year road maintenance. Mowing and mulching at the edge of the road, road construction and tree and brush control are only some of all the possible applications that the Unimog can cope with.

Producers of cranes, winches and road-rail attachments to be used in case of rail work confirmed the Unimog in being a professional implement carrier for a variety of requirements both on streets and rails and off-road.

Up to 30 Unimog with motor power between 160 and 299 hp and various attachments were presented at the events in February and March. Overall, more than 5.000 guests visited the events of the aligning general agencies Ahlborn, Carl Beutlhauser Kommunal- und Fördertechnik, Wilhelm Mayer Nutzfahrzeuge and SKSW Knoblauch. Therefore, operations manager Claus Artmayer (Beutlhauser) felt happy about the huge feedback: “We expected about 500 to 700 visitors, but we had actually 1.050 guests.”

Hence, these winter events with the numerous producers and state-of-the-art technology provided a first glance at this year’s branch leading trade fair IFAT, that takes place from Mai 30 till June 3 in Munich, to municipal representatives, contractors, conductors and users.
